Expert Witness. Recognised as expert in Air Traffic Control a variety of clients have sought Doug's opinion and sometimes court testimony. As Doug has extensive experience of radio and TV presenting he has been asked to explain the complexities of Air Traffic Control, ATC radar and communications systems and describe the Human Factors which affect decision making in high stress aviation situations.
Sky News sought Doug's opinion on the ATC issues which surrounded the crash of Asiana Airlines Flight 214 at San Francisco international airport.
The Guardian quoted Doug in the mystery of the Malaysian Airlines (MH370) Boeing 777 which disappeared en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur.

Sky News and BBC Newsnight also sought Doug's expert opinion while trying to understand the loss of MH370.
The Wall Street Journal also required Doug's explanation of the complex information which was being given by the authorities while the search for the aircraft was underway. He was able to relate the mystery of MH370 to his own ATC experience and give the reporter a good understanding of the various possible explanations of what may have happened.
